About Us

Our accommodations include five fully furnished properties at various dream locations all on the sunny west side of Orcas Island, the most spectacular of the idyllic San Juan Islands.  Just a few hours drive from Seattle, Washington, the island is near yet far away from everyday.  The ferry ride to Orcas Island through Rossario Strait and Harney Pass is absolutely gorgeous.

Each of our cottages is situated on its own beautiful and unique property.*  The surrounding property ensures your privacy and is a part of the "dream cottage" experience.  All have fully equipped kitchens, private baths, private decks, breathtaking views, resident wildlife galore and much much more. . .

All very special, our accommodations are available by the day (two night minimum please**) or by the week.  Come for a romantic weekend getaway or come to reconnect with nature and loved ones.  Rest, relax, rejuvenate, and reflect. . .

**We have a three night minimum during "High Season" trumped by two night only availability and/or your scheduling flexibility.

*One Property; One Cottage.  Our Tree House Suite is attached to our house.  Separated by a view corridor, the Suite has its own walkway, entrance, & deck. (Very Private!)

Occupancy

All our cottages are intentionally "cozy"--

Designed with a romantic getaway, honeymoon or special celebration in mind.

Isle Dream Cottage & Tree House Suite are designed and furnished just for two. 

Sea Dream Cottage, perfect for two, has a full size pull-out that can accomodate an extra adult or two little ones.**

Mariner's Dream  is a luxurious choice for two yet, comfortable enough with a Queen size pull out for a small family or 4 friends sharing.** 

Day Dream Farm, with a cozy sitting area in front of the woodburning fireplace and a soaking tub for two in the Master Bedroom, is an ideal choice for a honeymoon or romantic getaway.  With two tastefully and equally romantic and private ensuite bedrooms, Day Dream Farm Cottage is also a great choice for two couples sharing or for a small family.**.

All Dream Cottages operates under strict San Juan County rental permits.  Please limit use to the maximum number of persons specified in your rental agreement..

**There is a $20/per person/per night sur-charge for extra persons at these cottages

Decorating Philosophy

All of our small portfolio of cottages have been smartly furnished in our signature "dream" style--country rustic and simple, yet undeniably elegant.  We pay attention to every detail to attain this seemingly "effortless" sophistication and are pleased to be able to present our guests with a "dream" home away from home, cozy, intimate and comfortable without evidence of everyday clutter--where you can spend your entire vacation--sitting still staring out through the windows, if you so choose. 

Why we do not give directions on line

Our cottages are not lined up in a row on one property. Each cottage* is situated on its own uniquely beautiful private property and each property, in its own "Dreamy" way, represents the very best of Orcas Island.  The surrounding property and unforgettably stunning views are part of the "magic" Dream Cottage experience.  Also, our cottages are left open for our guests to check-in on their own time table.  As such, we do not give specific directions to the cottages until reservations have been confirmed with a deposit. 

Our Absolute Waterfront Properties

All our waterfront cottages are "grandfathered-in" properties.  That means they are all located closer to the water than permitted by new county codes. So when we describe our waterfront properties as "absolute" waterfront, we mean it--nothing between you and the water and the sound of lapping water, marine life, passing boats, etc, etc. . .

Children

We welcome children at Sea Dream, Day Dream Farm and the Mariner's Dream Cottages.  Having said that, all three have been furnished and decorated to be "dream" homes away from home--Complete "childproofing" is not compatible with this decorating philosophy.  Since our guests know their children best, we ask that they understand this and exercise their judgement when booking.

All our cottages have spectacular views.  Day Dream Farm, set on its own 7 acre parcel has a view of Orcas Island's pride, Turtleback Mountain from its back deck.  From its front porch swing, the view of the snow capped Olympic Mountain range in the distance through he bucolic farmland and flowering garden view is absolutely heavenly.  And each window gives you a poetic landscape with tall trees and cute critters.

Pets

We do not accept Pets at any of our rentals during our "Dream" & "High" Season.  ABSLUTELY NO PETS May 9 thru October 4, 2008.

During other times, we welcome your pet (1 ONLY please) at the Isle Dream and Sea Dream Cottages and only by prior arrangement** and payment of a fully refundable $100 pet deposit.  In addition, we ask for a reasonable pet surcharge ($10/Night or $35/Stay whichever is less).  Pets less than 2 years old are not welcomed. 

Due to past experience, we have ZERO TOLERANCE for pets at our other rentals.

**Bringing an unauthorized pet onto the property may result in loss of your reserved time.
